I am watching the screencasts listed on the MarkUs homepage (as of today).
One of my first impressions of the user interface of MarkUs is how simple it seems, yet it is still polished.
I like how easy group formation is. In my Operating Systems course, group formation involved sending a e-mail to the TA with all of our usernames, names, and student numbers so that he could set us up together. This system allows you to invite people to be a part of your group and then they can accept or reject the invitation. The one catch with that is that you have to know their username – so you can’t just look them up from a list.
I found the rubrics idea for marking assignments to be a little confusing since most of my CS courses have done automated testing for marking in addition to marking for style and other such things. Perhaps that is there, but just wasn’t there in the screencast?
